The End

My final Porject is handed in and I Think it turned out pretty good. We almost thought we lost the whole project there for a bit but were able to recover it and everything worked out. Once we got near the end everything just kind of picked up speed and we were able to get it done before school ended.

When we added the music everything seemed to come together. We used the song "Faithful" by Paul Cardall. It was a peaceful song but kind of had a dark feeling to it, which was really good for our video because it kind of forshadowed something bad happening. Our whole video leads up to the ending which is a bit of a shock , but i think it is very effective. There are images of Pollution flashing by gaining speed and then there are two pictures that switch back and forth about 5 times and it creates kind of a timer and then it switches to footage of a nuclear explosion, and then to children playing on a park. The two images are meant to contrast each other to make the viewer think and question the impact and influence they are making on the Earth. Our final Video is name "Time Bomb".

Here is one of the videos that inspired out final project.

Video Progress

So yesterday me and phil were working on our project and we found some video that really inspired us and brought everything together. I think we are definatly going to be able to get this projec done this week which is great because i have other classes that I need to focus on.

Our Video is kind of about pollution of Air, Land and Water. We have used a mixture of still images and stock footage to bring it all together. The pase of the video starts out slow and then slowly picks up pace as it goes through. This kind of represents the rapid increase in pullution that is happening on this earth. Everything seems to be gaining speed rather than recovering. The ending of our video is the best though and I think it is what makes the video most effective. The last to pieces of footage are completely contrasting and are meant to kind of shock the viewer and make them think.

Our video starts with the sunrise and ends with the sun set. This represents time going by and the beginning and the end. The sunrising and setting is also a picturesque, beautiful, peaceful thing and helps to contrast from all the images of pollution. I guess the over all theme or question this video is asking is, How are we effecting the earth? and What are we leaving behind for our posterity?

The music that i think we are going to use is kind of peaceful but in the background there is something about the song that is kind of deeper and darker forshadowing something negative. It kind of has an epic feel to it and adds to the video, but also in some ways acts as a contrast. I think it will be very effective when we get it with our video.

Mi Favorito

So far my favorite part about this class has been working with Photoshop. Especially the Self Portrait. I like working with faces. As an artist i focus on faces in my drawings and paintings. I find the face to be so interesting. And in a picture your eyes are always drawn to images of people. I think its people we are attracted to human features. They are the most interesting to us, maybe because the human body is such a mystery even though we know so much about it. I think the more we have learneded anout it the more we know we don't know. I think that really applies to everything in life.

Anyways Yes Adobe Photoshop has definatly been my favorite part of this Class. I like touching up photographs and making them look really neat. I have really come to enjoy more of the design aspects of art. I am really excited to be starting in the Art program at BYU Idaho in the fall, and hope to improve on all the things that i have already learned. I definatly love art!

Video Project

This Video Project so far has not been my favorite. I think I would have rather just done another Photoshop project. I am more into the Design side of things and the Video thing is so different that what we have been doing. I am really glad though that this project has been simplified. Doing it in partners kind of makes it difficult because now you have to corrdinate times and ideas, but at least you get to split the work load. Me and Phil Have had so many different ideas floating around. I really like time lapse footage though i think it is so need to see everything happen really fast. My favorite are time lapes video of the sunrise. And the best ones are when they are by the water or there are clouds movie over head. here is one that i thought was really interesting.

Some time I would like to a video based on all time lapse images, Something shows the passing of time, like a day or a year, using video of things growing and changing or something like that.

Vovler, Vovler

This movie is a short spanish movie, with english subtitles. It has such a great ending, you will be really surprised. We watched this in my spanish lab. During the intense moments in the Movie there is only slow music playing, this makes the scene standout aseing important. They also use close ups to make the moment more intense. At the end they also use slow motion to make the scene more dramtic, this is very effective because in the next scene everything switches and is contrasted with the comical music.

Website Design

My Webpage

I really enjoyed designing my website but it was very tedious project. I think now that i have some experience with the programs and how to do it i would be able to do it much faster if i had to do it again.

I found ideas from . They have a lot of great ideas on that site and i found it very helpfull. I wanted my site to be interesting and appealing to look and and looking at their different ideas sparked ideas in my head.

I found Dreamweaver to be frustrating to work with though and it doesn't allow you to manipulate your site very easily, which was annoying because sometimes what you had done in photoshop didn't work as well as you thought they would when you got them in to dreamweaver.

Iwanted to have all the links open up in different windows but the only ones that i could get to do that were my own pages that i had created.
